Polk County Fire District #1 County Chooses KME

NESQUEHONING, PA—KME is pleased to announce that Polk County (OR) Fire District #1 has awarded KME and Cascade Fire and Safety an order for three Ridgerunner™ interface pumpers, a 2,000-gallon tender, and a custom pumper. The award was made using the HGAC Fire Service Apparatus FS12-13 group purchasing contract.

The Ridgerunners are built on International four-door chassis and are both NFPA 1901 and 1906 compliant. The pumping system offers includes an NFPA rating of 1,500 gpm while still providing pump and roll at 100 gpm at 150 psi at 750 engine RPM—which means you can travel at walking speed without sacrificing stream consistency and reach. 750 gallons of water and 30 gallons of Class A foam are also included. The wetside tender includes a 1,000-gpm pump and 2,000 gallons of water, also on an International 7400. The KME custom Challenger pumper includes a 1,500-gpm pump, 750 gallons of water, 20 gallons of Class A foam, and plenty of storage with 29” deep compartmentation.

Mark Merritt, Cascade’s CEO states, “Working with the chiefs, officers and firefighters at Polk County has been a wonderful experience. They are truly a committed group of professionals who represent their community with distinction. We are honored that they have chosen Cascade Fire and KME to provide their next group of state-of-the-art fire apparatus. We look forward to many years of reliable service and a continued successful relationship with Polk County Fire District #1.”
