BROOKFIELD, Wisconsin (May 2, 2025) – REV Group announces that registration is now open for its annual Fire Truck Training Conference (FTTC). Founded 31 years ago, the FTTC has developed into the largest and most in-depth, hands-on combined Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) training symposium and testing event in the U.S. Building on the success of last year’s conference, the event will include additional training content related to ambulances, in addition to fire trucks. The FTTC will be held at the Lansing Center in Lansing, Michigan, September 21-26, 2025.
An estimated 400+ first responder driver-operators, technicians, equipment manufacturers, dealers, service center representatives and more from the U.S., Canada, and Latin America are expected to attend and learn the latest techniques for repairing fire trucks and ambulances. New training for 2025 includes Fleet Management / Leadership and Ambulance Maintenance courses.
“We are proud to host this important industry-wide event that was founded on the principle that keeping fire apparatus and ambulances up and running, regardless of the manufacturer or brand, is important to protect all our communities,” said Chris McClung, vice president, REV Fire Group.
In addition to the training and testing that takes place, the conference also serves to honor and celebrate emergency vehicle technicians. Two awards will be given at this year’s event, the William F. Foster Award, named after the conference’s founder who passed away earlier this year, and Firehouse Magazine’s EVT of the Year Award. The EVT of the Year Award winner will be selected later this year by a committee of EVTs and chiefs selected by Firehouse Magazine to determine who best meets the criteria and works to ensure the firefighters and citizens are safe.
Over the four days, more than 50 unique courses are offered, which span repairing brake systems, roll-up doors, electrical systems, pressure governors, pumps, and more. In the Component Classes, attendees can meet with suppliers one-on-one to address specific troubleshooting issues and learn the latest maintenance tips and techniques. In addition, attendees have two opportunities to take their EVT certifications exams. The courses are taught by product and industry experts, and the attendees also benefit from the many opportunities to network and share best practices with their peers.
FTTC was founded by Spartan Fire Chassis in the 1990’s and is now sponsored by REV Specialty Vehicles Segment fire apparatus and emergency vehicle manufacturers including Spartan Fire Chassis™, E-ONE®, KME®, Ferrara®, Spartan Emergency Response®, Smeal™, Ladder Tower™ AEV®, Horton®, Leader®, Road Rescue® and Wheeled Coach®, and numerous industry suppliers.
