Travis County (TX) ESD No. 1 was seeking to replace a rear-mount aerial ladder quint with a more maneuverable mid-mount model and turned to Sutphen Corp. who built a SL 75 aerial ladder quint for the district.
Lexington County (SC) Fire Services has put a Sutphen SPH 100 aerial platform quint in service in its fleet of firefighting apparatus.
Each apparatus was specifically designed for the Orlando Fire Department and its unique Central Florida firefighting needs.
David Rea, Cortland’s chief, says the department wanted to replace a pumper that Cortland had outgrown in terms of how much equipment they wanted to carry. “We purchased a new rescue-pumper from Sutphen Corp. through the Ohio State Term Schedule, which is a cooperative purchasing program that Sutphen participates in,” Rea says.
The Bozeman Fire Department reported on social media June 5 that two new pumpers, originally ordered in August 2021, are nearing completion and are expected to arrive mid-summer.
Meadville (PA) Fire Rescue & EMS had a 30-year-old aerial platform and a pumper that were starting to have maintenance issues, so the department put together a truck committee to spec out a quint that could fill the functions of both an engine and a truck. Sutphen Corp. has delivered a SL 100 aerial ladder quint to Opelika (AL) Fire Department that will replace a 25-year old rear-mount aerial platform, which will be held in reserve.
