Darley Launches New Unmanned Systems, Metaverse & Robotics (USMR) Division

Itasca, IL, April 14, 2022 – W.S. Darley & Co. (Darley) has launched a new technology division which will encompass our current virtual reality technology and robotic offerings, while also expanding to aggressively meet emerging customers’ needs in the innovative market of unmanned systems. There is a strong demand in the fire rescue, law enforcement and defense markets for unmanned system capabilities from low earth orbit to under the water. Working with our strategic partners, Darley’s USMR division will work to provide technological integration for future capabilities.

This division is working with partners like Ghost Robotics and their Vision 60 Quadrupedal Unmanned Ground Vehicle (Q-UGV) to support first responders with subterranean mapping for future responses like the Surfside building collapse, and to support our tactical partners who are sending unmanned systems into hostile areas to detect airborne chemical or biological pathogens.

Our aerial platform system integration work will focus on interchangeable payloads to swap out mission capability without sacrificing weight, speed or endurance. By developing strategic partnerships with several technology manufacturers, Darley is positioned to create multi-mission systems to meet our customers’ wide range of requirements in a time of tightening budgets.

Within the future of learning, Darley is working with partners such as FLAIM Systems and RiVR to cultivate immersive learning experiences that change the way first responders train. Training can now occur asynchronously among groups or collaboratively within a virtual classroom, which allows enhanced learning opportunities.

Leveraging Team Darley’s knowledge with our vast partner network will give us the ability to pair technologies together to become not just a distributor, but an essential partner with our strategic vendors.
