The Palmerton Municipal Fire Department is located in Carbon County, Pennsylvania. The Palmerton Municipal Fire Company is 100% volunteer and provides 24/7 fire suppression and rescue services to the Borough of Palmerton. The department operates out of one fire station with a fleet of two engines, one tower ladder, and two brush units.
ENGINE 713
Engine 713 is a custom KME pumper. It is built on a Panther MFD Cab with a 10-inch raised roof and has seating for seven. This rig has a FLEX Long Pumper style body, 3/16-inch aluminum construction with 29-inch by 14-inch-deep compartments. It is powered by a Cummins L9 450-hp motor with an Allison 3000 EVS Transmission. Engine 713 is equipped with a Hale Qmax 1,500-gpm pump, a 750-gallon water tank and a 20-gallon foam cell powered by a FoamPRO 1600 Foam System. It has a 16-inch extreme duty bumper and a 199-inch wheelbase. Engine 713 features a side operator panel, front and rear intakes and discharges, an Elkhart Cobra EXM2 Deck Gun, low hosebed with Lock & Load Hosebed cover, side-mounted ladders, high-rise pack storage above rear crosslays, ROM roll-up doors, full-height compartments on the driver’s side, and low side compartments on the officer side.
